Germs and Their (Not So Secret) Hiding Places

What do a salt shaker, a bathtub and a remote control have in common?
Ready? They are all household places where germs hang out. These are just some of the culprits which cause wintertime colds that seem to linger on well into the spring season. While it’s nearly impossible to have a germ-free household or office, isn’t it troubling to think about some of the dirtiest, germiest places in our homes? It’s something no one really wants to acknowledge – that some of our most common and most coveted items may be the ones that lead to our demise – or at least the demise of our immediate health. Even if we employ a house cleaner or office cleaning company, their work can only go so far. It’s up to each of us to join the crusade against the spread of wintertime germs.
Luckily, there’s an easy solution – one that makes everyone happy (especially the folks at Clorox and Purell). We need to more diligent about washing our hands and wiping down devices and objects that are touched by many on a daily basis. You’ve heard it before, you’ll hear it again: proper hand washing significantly reduces the spread of germs and viruses.
